Question 1

What is QA Jack?

Accepted Answer

QA Jack is an interview practice platform. Truth, our AI, runs realistic interviews and scores you live. Proxy, our second AI, stands in so you can watch a full demo without typing a word.

Question 2

Who are Truth and Proxy?

Accepted Answer

Truth is the interviewer and coach — it asks the questions, adapts to your answers and grades you. Proxy is the stand-in: it plays the candidate (or the interviewer) in demos so you can see good and bad interviews play out.

Question 3

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

No. You can practise and watch demos without one. An account lets you save runs, keep an interview diary, run research and share prep questions with candidates.

Question 4

How do I start?

Accepted Answer

On the home page, type an interview title and a first question, pick a length and a format, then press Go. Or tap one of the ready-made demos to watch one play out.

Question 5

Is it free?

Accepted Answer

Practice runs and demos are free to try while QA Jack is in early access.

Question 6

What does the Truth score mean?

Accepted Answer

It's a score out of 100 that blends three things: pace (landing answers within about 90 seconds), ownership (saying what you did, not just what the team did) and structure (situation, task, action, result, reflection).

Question 7

What is the “I vs We” meter?

Accepted Answer

It shows how much you credit yourself versus the team. Too much “we” hides your contribution; all “I” can sound like you ignore others. The sweet spot is clearly owning your part.

Question 8

Why does the interview pause after a few minutes?

Accepted Answer

Runs come in bite-size pieces (3, 5 or 10 minutes) so you don't have to sit through a full hour. When a piece ends you can continue for another round or see your report.

Question 9

Can I change the interviewer's style mid-run?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Use the Persona and Pressure controls during the run. You can make Truth friendlier, tougher, hostile or add time pressure at any moment.

Question 10

I gave a bad answer — can I redo it?

Accepted Answer

Press Undo to take back your last answer and Truth's reply. Your words go back in the box so you can edit them. Reset starts the interview over.

Question 11

What is “Take the wheel”?

Accepted Answer

In demos, Proxy answers for you. Press Take the wheel at any time to stop Proxy and answer the next question yourself.

Question 12

How do I keep a report?

Accepted Answer

On the report page, press Save to Diary. You'll need to be signed in. The score, summary, drills and transcript are saved to your account.

Question 13

How does interviewer practice work?

Accepted Answer

Truth plays a job candidate. You ask the questions. Live checks track how much you talk, which skills you've covered, and whether any question could be unfair or unlawful.

Question 14

What are candidate types?

Accepted Answer

You can pick who Truth plays: the Rambler, the Overly Humble, the Evasive, the Star or the Nervous candidate. Each tests a different interviewing skill.

Question 15

Why was my question flagged?

Accepted Answer

Questions about family, age, religion, health, nationality and similar topics are risky or unlawful in many places. Choose your country rules in the setup, and rephrase around what the job actually requires.

Question 16

What is the scorecard?

Accepted Answer

When you press End & get scorecard, Truth grades you on fairness, question quality, listening and coverage, shows what went well, and suggests better wording for weak questions.

Question 17

What is the Diary?

Accepted Answer

A private calendar of your real interviews. Add a candidate's name and the role and Truth drafts the interview plan for you. Add notes, decisions and follow-ups as you go.

Question 18

How do reminders work?

Accepted Answer

When signed in, the bell at the top shows upcoming interviews, notes you haven't logged and overdue follow-ups. Your browser can also show reminders if you allow it.

Question 19

What does research do?

Accepted Answer

Truth searches the public web for the candidate and company, then summarises what it finds, suggests questions and checks claims — using only real sources, with links.

Question 20

How do I share questions with a candidate in advance?

Accepted Answer

Open an interview in your Diary, add questions in the Share card (as a topic or exact wording), then copy the private link. The candidate can read them, add prep notes, practise with Truth and confirm they've read them — no account needed.

Question 21

How do I sign in?

Accepted Answer

Use Google or an email and password from the Sign in button at the top of the page.

Question 22

I forgot my password.

Accepted Answer

The quickest fix is to sign in with Google using the same email address. Self-serve password reset is coming soon.

Question 23

Who can see my diary?

Accepted Answer

Only you. Each account's interviews are private. A candidate only sees the questions you choose to share, through the private link.

Question 24

Are practice runs stored?

Accepted Answer

Practice runs stay in your browser tab and disappear when you close it, unless you press Save to Diary.

Question 25

How do I delete my data?

Accepted Answer

You can delete any interview from your Diary. Deleting all your interviews removes your saved content.

Question 26

Truth isn't responding.

Accepted Answer

Refresh the page and try again. If it keeps happening, the AI may be busy — wait a minute and retry.

Question 27

The page looks out of date.

Accepted Answer

Do a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R, or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to load the latest version.

Question 28

My demo stopped partway.

Accepted Answer

Demos run for a short slice and then pause. Choose Continue for more, or See report.

Question 29

Is QA Jack legal or hiring advice?

Accepted Answer

No. QA Jack is a practice tool. Compliance alerts are helpful prompts, not legal advice — check local law and your company's policies for real hiring.
